Workshop Introduction
FreedomFi, Cal Chip Connect and their partners are introducing a wildly new take on the private network business: Do it yourself (DIY), backed by cryptocurrency. The leadership team at Cal Chip Connect will take the next 90 minutes to provide an overview of the networks, the components and the value for individuals to contribute to one of several decentralized wireless networks — one of the most disruptive trends in technology today. The development of decentralized networks

Introduction to Decentralized Wireless: The Helium Network, Pollen, Devices and Business
A decentralized wireless network enables devices anywhere in the world to wirelessly connect to the Internet and geolocate themselves without the need for expensive cellular plans. Powering the network is a blockchain with a native protocol token incentivizing a two-sided marketplace between coverage providers and coverage consumers. Blockchain injects a decentralized approach into an industry currently controlled by monopolies. The result is that wireless network coverage becomes a commodity, fueled by competition, available anywhere in the world, at a fraction of current costs.

Transaction Fees; Location; Devices and Future Growth
The business model for a decentralized network can either for private purposes (for example, a hotel can build it for its own employees) or it can be opened up to other FreedomFi customers and partners, thus creating a kind of community-owned roaming setup. The second hour of the workshop offers insight and details into how the network rewards infrastructure owners.
